As part of years of work for the company’s internal communications website InTouch, I wrote this series on the company’s global travel department, which appeared on the site in 2008.
Bristol-Myers Squibb employees are truly globetrotters. There are nearly 12,000 regular travelers in the U.S. and another 4,500 around the world, from France to China, Australia to Argentina.
As a result, the company’s travel program is globally focused too. Corporate Travel Services (CTS) manages travel for Bristol-Myers Squibb employees in 25 different countries and CTS has negotiated global agreements with Carson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), airlines and hotels, that it also makes available to employees in 32 additional countries.
Keep in mind, when it comes to travel at Bristol-Myers Squibb, a one-size-fits all approach doesn’t exist. In fact, travel in Southeast Asia, Latin America and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) is quite complex, says Philippe Darson, associate director, CTS, EMEA and Asia Pacific.
